Photography + Preservation Associates is a firm dedicated to historic documentation and the exploration of land use and preservation issues through contemporary photography. Their projects have involved interdisciplinary collaboration with architects, archaeologists, engineers, cultural geographers, historians and landscape architects. They have worked extensively with the Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS), Historic American Engineering Record (HAER), and Historic American Landscape Survey (HALS) cultural documentation programs of the National Park Service which document historic structures, industrial archeology, and cultural landscapes for the Library of Congress to preserve a legacy of the build environment of the United States. The director, Brian Grogan, has produced more than 6,000 photographs for the HABS/HAER/HALS collection.
