The Buffalo History Museum

The Digital Ark (TDAC) has partnered with The Buffalo History Museum (BHM) to develop an online digital archive with an e-commerce module so that visitors can browse, search and purchase images from their collections. By logging in via a web browser, BHM staff can edit image metadata, manage user comments, change browse categories, modify product pricing, and download low-resolution images with or without digital watermarks. Customers can purchase archival prints as well as high- and low-resolution digital downloads. The collections currently comprise photographs, maps, panoramic etchings, postcards, plans, and advertisements. Some of the highlights include landscaping plans for the Olmsted Park System in the City of Buffalo as designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Brothers. The collections will continue to grow in depth and breadth as more imagery is regularly added.
